Engine replacement

Well, lets figure that out. First of all you will need to figure the cost of the labor and then the engine price whether it be, new, re-manufactured, salvage, used or if you plan to try repairing the engine yourself.
There is no 1.5l engine, the v6 is a 3.5, so I will assume that is what you have.
Normally the labor hourly rate can fluctuate from anywhere from $50.00 an hour for some gas station or independent shop all the way up to the national dealerships of $125.00 an hour, but they all basically just charge their hourly rate time the published labor hours, which in this case to remove and replace the engine takes about 15 hours, so $50.00 to $125.00 multiplied by 15 hours = $750.00 to $1,875.00 labor charge for remove and replace which includes transferring whatever parts and tuning when done.
Add that to the price of the engine, whether it be new, remanufactured or a salvage engine.
AutoZone lists a long black for $4,300.00 which should give you an idea on the price of a re-manufactured. Salvage is ranging from around $1,000.00 to $1,500.00 and you can possibly find an engine within driving distance on http://car-part.com
Of course if you decide to repair it yourself, that would just cost you time, maybe some tools, a repair manual and the rental of an engine hoist or support.
Plus the price of any parts.
