I put truck in drive and press the gas it's moving forward slowly?

Two things come to mind.

1. Low fuel pressure. If the pressure is low, it could not have sufficient fuel in the engine to rev up.

2. clogged catalytic converters. If the exhaust is blocked, it cannot breathe and there will be low or no power. You can check it by either using a back pressure gauge attached to one of the upstream O2 sensors or you can unbolt the head pipe from the manifolds and take it for a ride and see if the power has returned. I attached a picture of the part for you from Rock Auto.

thank you. yes, so i got her fired up again and her some tapping turned truck off ASAP. I'm almost positive i believe its rocker/lifter maybe? so i pulled off the intake pulled covers off took rockers out and push rods all perfectly fine, but when i took intake out i noticed something strange and every single is locked seized but one. one of them is semi squishy which is good if i remember but the rest are rock solid not is this because of took much oil? or because truck sat for 4+ months and they seized up? so confused. I'm betting this is why i have no power from pedal and the noise. so question. no, can i just pull these to soak them in pen fluid overnight if they end up not changing? aka still seized I will buy new ones and can i just put them in like boom done? or is it more to it like do i need to pull the cam? or how do i know which ones i need to buy? thank you for your time and help!

I noticed it has been a couple of days since you have been contacted. Has any additional progress been made?

As far as the issue, if you are referring to the hydraulic lifters, they should be replaced. If they are seized, even soaking them will likely not fix them properly, even if they loosen. Keep in mind, hydraulic pressure is what pumps them up. If there is internal damage, chances are they won't properly pump up or hold pressure.

Let me know if it is the lifters you are referring to. Also, inspect the camshaft for any evidence of damage to the high points of the lobes.

hey, sorry i have been busy with work and finally got more work done on my truck. i pulled the lifters out cleaned them soaked them in pen fluid. all are working perfect. cam is fine. also, no damage put everything back together going to add fluids tomorrow and start her up again.

Yes, i took the lifters apart cleaned them and put everything on today lifters all amazing rods straight solid no clogs clean and blew them out rockers solid. i removed lash and rock and adjusted. hopefully all is fixed now, haha. but before like before i did any fixing i just basically had no power at all. was so odd like i would put in gear would go into gear find it move itself but when i press the gas pedal nothing happens; just revs a teeny tiny bit. but 100% no power at all and when i rev it nothing. as if i didn't even rev it.

started her up today idling great no sounds cam is thumping, but I'm still having issue with throttle response. so, when I'm out of truck hood open and i rev the throttle slowly response is solid but when i rev it fast also works solid. i do believe now when I'm inside the truck and i do it slow press gas all solid but when i rev it fast it's like delayed. I don't know what's going on. I'm so confused, haha. no idea what the problem is.

What did you set the ignition timing to when you reassembled the engine? It should be around 10 degrees before top dead center.

You are right. I didn't even think of that. Yes i didn't time her yet but when i just look at where it was it was 10 degrees before TDC.

Because i did bring out my time gun i was just so tired just wanted to see where she was at but didn't time yet. i know dumb of me, but what should i set it at? i read somewhere 16 degrees before TDC or where you think i should do? i was a true TDC when i fired her up and she was idling.

Make sure you unplug the spout connector at the ignition coil to put it in base timing. Then set your timing. I would set it at about 12 degrees to take into account a worn timing chain.

Ignition timing is 10 degrees +/- 2 degrees BTDC (with spout plug removed) and is not adjustable. With the spout plug installed, ignition timing is computer-controlled.

i installed a brand-new timing chain 5 days ago so just to make sure i do this right truck is off unplug sprout turn truck on set to 12 degrees turn truck off plug sprout back in or plug it in when i'm done timing?

Plug it back in with the engine off.

hey, just want to ask because my summit racing TDC sticker doesn't have btdc or atdc hopefully i can type this out right my question is you said 12 degrees or just about i will do this, but my question is which side is 12 degrees before TDC? think if i remember that's what you said and my truck goes i believe goes clockwise which is >>> right BTDC --10--0--10-|-20--40--60-- ATDC is this right or should it be ATDC |--10--0--10--20--40--60 BTDC and this > | guess simpler way would be is before top dead center on the right of the 0 or left, haha and thank you very much for your help.

Okay, so when i go to time it i want to be towards the right side not the left side correct? Because right now yesterday when i shined the light it was on the left side of the 0.

Set it up according to the setup. When you move the distributor advanced, the engine idle should speed up.
