After i changed a new CKP, the engine refuses to start. And the PCM throws DTC P0335.
Please, how can I resolve this problem? Thank you.

Hi,

This model isn't offered in the US, but I will try my best to help.

The code indicates there is no signal from the crankshaft position sensor. As a result, there is likely no ignition spark at the spark plugs.

When you installed the sensor, did you have to shim it? That can create issues if the sensor is too far away from the toner wheel.

Let me know.

Hi Joe,

Yes, before I installed the CKP in his place, the shimming was perfect.

Okay, check to confirm there is spark to the plugs. Also, and I'm not sure why, the only thing I found for this year Captiva is a 2.4L (Mexico). I'm not sure where you are located.

I checked the code, and it is a crankshaft position sensor code, but the repair, according to Alldata, is the VVT solenoid, which doesn't make sense to me. See pic below.

Check to see if there is spark at the plugs. If there aren't, we need to confirm there are no damaged wires to the CKP or something that was pinched.

Let me know.
