Will not start

For some reason, my car won't start. So I go up to my booster pack, plug it up to the positive terminal and ground, and notice my car wipers cycle through. So I get in the car, and it starts right up. Booster pack completely in the off position. This happens frequently, and I'm almost positive there's no power going through the booster pack. What exactly is making my car start without the booster pack?

If the booster pack is not turned on, but you connect it and the car starts, I suspect the battery terminals are corroded or loose. The pressure from the booster pack's connectors are most likely tightening things enough for them to work.

Check the condition of the battery terminals. Are they clean and tight? Here is a link that explains how to deal with a similar type issue. Take a look through it and follow the directions explained.

Appreciate the reply. I forgot to mention I'm using the engine bay terminals, while the battery is in the trunk - as I cannot pop the trunk while I assume the battery is dead.

Can you open the trunk if you have the booster pack attached at the engine bay?

Yes, it opens with the booster pack attached to the engine bay - while the booster pack is still switched off.

Either the booster pack switch is bad or one of the connections you are using is loose. Check that. Also, with the pack off, use a multi meter to confirm there is no power.
