Will not crank

Hello,

When you turn the ignition key does the engine crank and not start or does your vehicle do nothing at all?

Does nothing, all lights go out when ignition in crank position
I have also found voltage going to both sides of the fuel pressure sensor.

Okay, so in the diagrams down below I have included a wiring diagram of your vehicle's starting circuit for you. Please use this for reference. So what we are going to do is systematically work through the circuit until we find the section with the problem, and then, fix it. So, let's start with the battery. Can you test the battery by getting a voltage reading across the terminals and get back to us with what you are able to find out.
We can go from there.

I don't get any voltage to the solenoid when the key is turned oh, the starter bench tested fine

Okay, you kinda jumped the gun here by going to the starter solenoid, we're on the other end still. Okay, next please check Ground #109, located on the top rear of the engine. In the diagrams down below I have included instructions for how to properly inspect grounds for you. Please go through these guides and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

The relay is fuse 67 strtr and 68 run/crank not sure how to pinpoint pin 85. Do you have a schematic of the pin numbers locations?

If you look at the starting circuit wiring diagram I provided in the first reply I sent you on the top left is the starter relay. Then dashed box around it represents the Under hood Fuse Block, where the relay is located on your vehicle. Now, if you look at the four wires going to the relay, there are corresponding numbers beside each wire where they go into the relay. These are the pin numbers on the relay. In the diagrams down below I have included a diagram of a 4 Pin relay for reference. Again, please get a voltage reading from Pin #85 of the starter relay with a helper turning the ignition key to the "start" position and get back to us with what you are able to find out.

I have a reading of 11.8 volts prior to turning the key on at pin 85. It remains constant when you turn the key on and to the crank position.

Retested, get .017 at pin 45 with the relay slightly raised so I could touch the posts both before and as the key is turned to crank position, the prior was with the relay out completely.

Okay, we're getting close now. Do a voltage drop test on the purple/white wire from pin #63 of the Engine Control Module (ECM) to Pin #85 of the Starter Relay. I have included instructions on how to do a voltage drop test in the diagrams down below. It is very easy to damage a connector to the ECM, so the easiest safest way to get a test probe at the ECM connector is to get a safety pin. Get it so the pin is straighten out and back probe the cavity where the wire you are testing is. The wire usually has a rubber weatherproofing grommet around it so push firmly, but not enough to push past the pin. Do not ground the safety pin. Now you have a good metal to metal contact point for the multi-meter test probe without damaging the connector. Please get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Okay, so I have 3 connectors on the ECM, blue black and grey, which purple and white would be the pin 63.

If I did it correctly, i was reading .017 when the key was turned to the crank position.

Okay, that tested fine. Funny side note, when you have 10 to 15 of these pans in the fryer, sometimes you forget what stage the food in any one pan is cooking at. Okay, so the starter bench tested good, so let's get the voltage at the starter from the purple wire(from pin 87 of the starter relay to the starter). If the voltage reading is not battery voltage then replace the wire. If battery voltage is present then the starter's solenoid/bendix is bad and starter needs to be replaced. Please get back to us with what you are able to find out.

Okay, the starter wire and the starter are fine. The relay in the fuse box which bench tests fine does not engage when the key is turned.I did a continuity check on the wire and had good tone, and also checked continuity from both ends to ground and didn't get a tone. I then took power from battery and put to pin 87 ( with relay out) and the engine cranked over.

No, I sent a second message explaining more.

I looked for my second reply to you could not find it. With the relay out I have a 11.7 volts at post 85 but when I put the relay in I get voltage reading of .017 with the key in the on position and that does not change when when I turn the key to the crank position, the engine still does not crank with the key.
With the relay out I actually get a positive voltage reading on pin 86 also it isn't much but it is there.

Okay, with the relay out there should be 0 Volts at pin 85. Pin 85 is the Ground for the electromagnetic coil and is supplied by the ECM through the purple/white wire. Trace the purple/white wire from pin 85 to the ECM and look for a short to power anywhere along the wire. If none is found then the ECM has an internal short to power in it and will need to be replaced. Get back to us with what you find, please.
