I recently replaced my faulty ECU; the car worked and has been driven around for over 3 days without any fault.
But after replacement, and except for the battery light, ABS, other lights such as oil, engine, transmission (PNRDL) have never come on. The central lock with remote from the outside too did not function.

Although prior to this replacement, ECU from a friends Lexus was installed to be sure it's an ECU fault, and it worked perfectly, with all light and function working.

What do you think the issue is please?

Hi,

Is the replacement ECU new? Has it been programmed for your vehicle? Also, have you inspected the connector pins for damage?

If the one from a friend's vehicle worked, retry it. If it works again, chances are the replacement one is faulty or not programmed for your vehicle.

Let me know if this is something you have already done.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

I know the free code ECUs are built with no immobilizer code function to eliminate that as an issue. However, there should be some type of programming done to match it with your vehicle. There is a chance it is faulty as well. I would still try your friend's to see if it runs properly. If it does, the new ECU is the issue.

Let me know.

Joe
