Is the ECU in the same location on a 2005 Kia Optima 2.7 As the 2006 model the 5 letter of the vin is a D ? and if not where is the ECM located on the 2005 Kia Optima 2.7 5 letter of him is a D ?

No it is not. The ECU on the 2005 is located under the hood bolted to the air filter housing while the one on the 2006 is in the interior behind the center of the dash. They are also not interchangeable if that is why you are looking.

I have a 2005 optima and no it's not bolted to the air filter. I am looking for it. Think it may be behind the glove box?

Which engine do you have? The 2.7 v-6 is located under the hood on the airbox, the 2.4L 4 cylinder is inside the vehicle in the center of the dash on to of the center tunnel.
