wipers and gauges will not work

Six cylinder front wheel drive automatic 142,000 miles

my wipers only come on while the car not running but while car is running wipers will not work. And none of the gauge work on the dashboard.only MIL's illuminate. i thank you for helping and God bless.

Have you checked the fuses? In particular, the interior lights fuse and the airbag fuse which might be in a yellow pull handle. Check if the interior lights work or if there is some other system that does not work.

The fuses I mentioned are often used to stop battery drain while the car sits at the factory waiting to be sold and delivered to a dealer. The engine will run but some systems will only work while the engine is running.
