91 eagle talon

i was driving down the highway pushin it in my 2.0liter non-turbo 91 eagle talon that is stock, it has a new timing kit, balance belt replaced but balance shaft is screwed up and making a noise, a new water pump, new gas tank. as i was driving , i was in fifth gear, and i was gona downshift into forth gear, (manual trans), and i shifted too slow and it died out on the highway goin 75, i didnt stop, i put it into fourth and let go of the clutch and that started it back up and when it started up it like shutterd vioently (the whole car jerked), and now its making a new noise, like a loud rattling noise(it sounds like it could be the balance shaft but louder or i dont know) that sounds like as if its coming out from the top of the head and by the belts, and if i put it into nuetral it will stall out, and i have to constantly give it gas if in nuetral or the revs will go down and will stall. but after i let it sit overnight, it stopped stalling out, but it is still making that loud new rattling noise. what is wrong with my car? please help, any help would be appreciated.
