1995 Eagle Talon gas leak/please help

have a bad leak at the bottom of the fuel filter, replaced fuel filter still leaking. also noticed at the right front of the engine i have this space ship looking thing that has a vacuum line coming from it leading to the back of the engine it has melted could this be the problem

I am sorry I didn't see this question earlier. You must be very careful to fix this leak soon. This other thing may be emmissions related and also must be fixed but If you see raw fuel leaking out under the fuel filter that is job 1. If you must, tow it. Wear safety glasses and have a method to extinguish a fuel fire handy regardless.The capacity for a fuel explosion or worse is 'burned' into my brain. Maybe the ship is the top of a charcoal cannister or I guess it would be a good spot for a mini UFO to hitch a ride on a human vehicle.
There is usually a decal under the hood or somewhere in the engine compartment that will show a picture of all the vacuum circuitry or a Chrysler service manuel wil have it in Group 25. ok
