1st and 2nd gear do not engade but drive and revers do

When your auto trans is weak or loses pressure reverse goes first because it requires more pressure. The shift linkage or cable or valve body may be bad. If you never use them, you don't have to be concerned. If you are worried, have it looked at. I would have it repaired, just for safety reasons. Your welcome. Bye
