Dual zone A/C not working correctly

Welcome to 2CarPros.

Chances are the air temp actuator is bad and not opening the blend air door to the right position. The air temp actuator (blend air door actuator) is responsible for the air temp entering the vehicle. Since you have dual climate control, there are two, one for the left and one for the right.

If you take a look at pics 1 and 2, they show the location of the actuator for the right (passenger side) of the vehicle. Pic 2 are the directions for replacement.

Once the new part is installed, you will need to recalibrate it.Normally a scan tool is used. However, it can be done without one. Here are the directions for without a scan tool:

Alternate Method (without Scan Tool)

Note: Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self-calibrating. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result.

1. Clear all DTCs.

2. Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.

3. Install the HVAC actuator.

4. Connect all previously disconnected components.

5. Remove the HVAC control module fuse for a minimum of 10 s.

6. Install the HVAC control module fuse.

7. Start the vehicle.

8. Wait 40 s for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.

9. Operate system and verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.
