I have the manual dual climate control with the two vertical sliders to control temp. I noticed a couple weeks ago that the passenger side vents would be blow hot air despite the temp setting at full cold. By moving the passenger side temp control up and down, changing the temperature, I am eventually able to get it to blow cold air again. But eventually, after a couple minutes it will go back to blowing hot.

Do I need to replace the blend door actuator, the climate control panel in the dash, or is it something else?

Advice please. Thank you in advance!

try pulling the hvac fuse for 60 seconds with key on then reinstall. sometimes it resets the actuators if not have it scanned for codes. that way it will tell if it 's the control or the actuators.

Also here is a guide we have on the subject.

Thanks for the response. I just pulled the 20amp HVAC fuse in the fuse box in the glove box with key on. I replaced after 1 minute with key on position/engine not running, then restarted - same problem. Did I pull the correct fuse? In the owner's manual it says there is also an HVAC fuse in the fuse panel under the hood.

when actuators are replaced you have to do that in order to make them work. the fuse under hood is for the blower not the control unit. if still not working have a mechanic scan for codes as it may be a control problem not the actuator. an auto parts scanner cannot do this

I have a 99 Pontiac Grand Prix. I have the manual climate control but I have the same problem. When mine does this, I just add refrigerant to the the system. You can even buy the refrigerant that has stop leak in it. That has really helped mine. It stops blowing cold with the far left vent and moves to the right. After adding refrigerant, it blows ice cold out of all of the vents. There is a small leak somewhere in the lines, but I will just add to it until I have to replace it. I hope this helps.

There is a bad actuator which controls the air vent door. You have to remove the heater box under the dash cnetr.

I have cold air flowing on the passenger side of my car and warm air on the driver's side. The air refridgerant is fine. I have read that this has to do with the air control motor on the driver's side but where is this located?

the blend door is located in the air ducts, the motor is a dealer only part so you will have to have them do it..

This problem also accurs with my heat, it blows out warm air on the drivers side but cold air on the passengers side. What is causing this to happen?

An electronic door that opens and closes to direct air to different locations is faulty.

You will have to remove dash to get to it.

Air Conditioning problem
1997 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 130000 miles

I have recently recharged the A/C but the drivers side continues to blow HOT while the passenger side will blow cold. I have tried turning dual climate on and off and turning the heat all the way up and back to cold thinking maybe something was stuck but I have not had any luck. What can I do to fix this problem so I have cold A/C on both sides??

With the dual climate control, you have two blend air doors. These doors open and close based on the temp you request. If one of the doors is stuck or has a bad actuator, the temps will be different.
