Drivetrain Differential Yoke installation issue?

I replaced the driveshaft yoke on the axel. But I didn’t count how many turns or mark it before I took it off. Now I noticed a vibration when I take my foot off the gas. How do I find the torque the nut needs?

Hi,

There are two different differentials that were used on this vehicle. If you have a 9 3/4", I have the directions for reinstalling the yoke.

I attached the directions below. Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Awesome.
I'm going to try the torque as noted and hopefully everything goes good.
I didn’t torque it last time.
Do you need to remove the two rear tires and brake calipers before tightening the nut onto the yoke. Do you need to check the nut with a dial torque wrench at 10 - 15 inch lbs.
I will follow the instructions and let you know.

Hi,

The information I provided is for a 9.75" differential. If that is what you have, it will work. As far as removing brakes and all, that should have been done before the nut was removed to determine how much torque was required to turn it. Then, in small increments, the nut is retightened to achieve the same.
