After replacing carrier bearing there is a roaring noise and a vibration

Does the sound come from the driveshaft area?

Were there any complications assembling it? Did you get the slip yoke to move freely with installation?

Yes, the noise is coming from driveshaft area and the slip yoke I'm referring to doesn't move unless driveshaft does. it's the one at the joint of the driveshafts pieces.

I know where it is at as I have done many of them.

If the joint does not move freely, it will stress the bearing and cause noise.

If you disable the AWD, does it still make noise?

I removed the driveshaft because I don't know of a way to disable the awd and the noise stops. no when you say move freely what exactly do you mean?

The slip yoke in the center should slide in and out easily.

If it does not make any noise with the shaft out, you could be getting noise from the rear differential.


You can disable it by disconnecting an ABS sensor. When the ABS light comes on the AWD will be disabled.

My ABS light is on due to a bad sensor. When the driveshaft isn't in it makes noise when it's not it doesn't. the slip yoke doesn't move. is it supposed to like slide in and out?

Yes it is.

It does sound like you have an issue with the rear differential.
