My rear driver side power windows stopped working. It started acting up off and on...I would have somebody in the back who would roll the window down and it would work, and then later on in the week, it would go down, but not up. After leaving it alone for the rest of the day, it would go up the at the end of the night when trying again (or even the next morning) and I would be so afraid it would get stuck down that I would lock the windows so nobody could mess with it.
I recently took my rig to a shop to have some other things looked at and while I was there I asked them to 'professionally' troubleshoot and diagnose the truck. The stated that from what they could see, the motor in the door for the window seemed to have power. They ran a multi-meter on it, and I suppose they said the first time it had power going down but not up, and the other time, up but not down. Confusing, I know.
The head mechanic suggested that it could be a bad master switch; which I informed him I had changed just two months prior due to other reasons. He also stated they would need to keep looking in to it to further assess it would keep running me $75 an hour with no ETA on when they could find something.
Anyways, I went to the auto parts store, and bought a new $80 master switch. Put it in; nothing. The window won't come down with either the door switch, OR the master switch, and if it's a wiring issue, I just want to know where I would need to look, and am also wondering why this only just happened; it's not like anybody is in the door messing with wiring or anything.
Thankfully, the master switch I put in has a part number on it specific to the auto store so I will be able to get my money back. :) Any suggestions, though?
