Strip motors from seat and check slide mechanism and tilt lever, if the motors work it will be a mechanical problem with the seat.

It sounds like a switch or a fuse problem. Here is a guide to show you how the power and wiring goes along with a copy guides to show you what to do.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-a-car-fuse

and

Check to see where you loose power.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken

Driver's seat won't go forward or back. All other seat controls work correctly. How to diagnos or check this out before going to a "real mechanic"?

Test the switch terminals for the forward and backward movement. Use a multi-meter to check for 12 volts at the terminals. If it has 12 volts, the switch is bad and needs to be replaced.

2002 Honda Odyssey 6 cyl 50,200 miles

My car was recently fixed at theHonda dealership for a faulty 15-3 OPDS sensor. It was fixed under warranty. Immediately after the work was done my driver's seat, at the base, lifts up when you lean back.
A plastic part broke off underneath the seat this may also affect the motor of the seat. How do I find out if this is covered under warranty or if the previous work damaged the driver's seat.

Thank you for any information you can give me.

Hi pdhjsh,

It is not easy to verify if the fault is caused by the repair job but since repair was carried out on the seat, you should get back to the dealer and get them to rectify the problem at no additional costs.

The strap used for lifting the 3rd row seats into place is stuck in the well of the back cargo area. How can I release the folded down seats to lift them in place without the strap?

Can you see the straps? you may need to fish them out with a coat hanger or the such.

Hi Jack -
Before I got your response, a friend managed to stick his hand into the back corner (closest to the bumper) of the seat well and get his hand down to the second level of the folded seat. By grabbing the corner, he was able to lift the entire bifold seat assembly and reveal the buried strap. I can't get my hand into the space he got his into to lift the seat, so I guess you need a thin-handed person with a good bit of strength to pull this off.
Your idea to fish out the stap may well have worked. For sure the secret is to get leverage from the second level of the seat assembly in order to lift it.

The plastic lever that disengages the third seat for folding down for cargo, seems loose and does not work. I suspect that the cable is either disengaged or broken. I can't see how to even get at it for repair.

Help!

The latch cable is disconnected from the handle.
There is two screws holding the handle, remove the screws and handle to reconnected the cable.

When i pull the release lever for the 3rd row, it will no longer fold flat into the floor. (The seat back still folds down, but the bottom will not flip over into the floor)

It feels like there is no resistance - maybe a cable is broken/unattached? This happened suddenly and with no indication anything unusual had occurred.

Will this be expensive to fix? Rough guesstimate on cost? Does ithave to go to a Honda dealer or could another mechanic do it? Is this a difficult repair - anything I could do myself?

Thank you so much!

Hi bellabuggy, Most probably the latch is stuck and not releasing from the strikers. Remove the recliner Lever trim to see if any cable is detached.
