Draw in fuse 6

Good morning,

How did you determine the fuse was the source of the draw?

You would need to disconnect one component at a time on that fuse to narrow the area of the draw.

That's exactly what I did. I hooked my multi-meter up in series on amperage, and pulled fuses until the amps dropped down to zero. Fuse 6 was the one that was causing a draw.

Okay, 50 to 75 milliamps are normal reading.

What was your reading?

I’ll have to get back to you on an exact number. I was about to test again today, but my multi-meter isn’t reading amps anymore (unfused circuit) so I need a new meter.

When I last did it, I think it was reading 0.2 amps. And sorry, I misread your earlier statement, I haven’t started unplugging components yet.

No worries. There is an internal fuse in the meter for the amp readings.

Hi there,

Sorry it’s been a bit. I’ve had some transmission issues to deal with lately.

So the strangest darn thing is happening. When I hook my multi-meter up to the battery in series set to 200mA, I get a reading of 13.8mA. This is with all of the fuses in. When I took fuse 6 out and performed the reading again, it was still 13.8mA! So this seems like a good reading, however, I distinctly remember this past winter I would come to the car with a dead battery twice, and when I removed fuse 6, it stopped dying. I did take the battery back to advance to get tested and they said it was a good battery.

So am I good? I feel one day I may come back to a dead battery again lol.

Yep, at 13.8 is below the 50 to 75 milliamp readings.
