Down hill descend light

When I start my car the downhill descend light on the dash board lights up green then the amber down hill descend light with exclamation lights up and stays lit. The down hill descend button is in the off position. I took to a transmission specialist and he ran a scan on the transmission and no errors were found. Please advise what the problem could be or if I could disconnect the down hill descend.

Hello Karen,

nine times out of ten times on this problem is the switch needs to be replaced. Do not disconnect the system because it will cause additional problems.

Here is a diagram (below) on how to change the switch out. You will need to get it from the dealer.
