Drivers' door will not open

I don't think the driver's door has a safety lock. Can you unlock the door using the key? It sounds like the control rod has fallen off in which case you will remove the door panel but first the seats will need to be removed so you can get to the panel. Here are instructions on how to remove the panel which will show the locks. Check out the diagrams (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
