Your vehicle has what is called door control modules. Within the door latch there is a switch that tells the door module if the door is open or closed. On older vehicles there was an actual door ajar switch but your vehicle doesn't show a separate switch which means it is in the latch.

Unfortunately we need to find out which door this is. Does you icon in the dash happen to show each individual door being opened and closed? I don't have the detail on that in the manual. If it has the individual doors on the symbol then with all the doors closed, which one is it showing still opened? Maybe just get a picture of the icon in the dash and we can go from there.

Thanks everybody, more information; it does show specifically the passenger front door, there is no visible switch or button on the door or doorjamb like I'm used to seeing. maybe twice a week while I am driving the screen will jump to normal to the odometer, trip, etc. but only hold for 3 seconds then jump back to 'door open' message. The door locks all do lock when I lock up to leave the car.

KASEKENNY1 is correct there is a switch inside the latch which sounds like it has gone bad which is common. Here is the part number and cost for the latch:

Right - 814202W000 $134.13

Please let us know what happens.
