Door open alarm sounds interior lights come on

When making right turns or coming to a quick stop my open door alarm goes on. Also my interior lights come on. I should’ve said anytime I go right even in a curve on the highway this happens not just right turns. Doors are all closed tight. Also if I push on my drivers door while in car, I can get that alarm to sound. Door will not pop open unless I use the door handle to get out. So I am not worried at all about door opening up by itself. But I have been keeping it locked while I’m driving.

Hi,

If the interior lights and warning can be actuated by pushing on a closed door, the switch in the door is bad or not tight. I believe on this model year, it is mounted in the door frame below the latch assembly. I attached the only pic I could find showing it (pic 2). Note that the pic is with the trim removed between the front and rear doors.

Open the driver's door and check to make sure that switch is tight. If it is, I would simply replace it.

I added a little felt piece where it indents on the inside column. That works great. Must push in the contact a little more and it stopped the alarm from sounding.

That works!!! LOL Chances are the switch is either loose or it's just going bad. If you run into more trouble with it and want to replace it, let me know. I'll help you through it.
