Tapping sound and blue smoke

I was coming home car was running fine then all of a sudden it started smoking blue smoke bad and making a tapping sound. what could be my problem?

Blue smoke is usually oil burning. Tapping could be a valve dropped into a cylinder or piston ring broke. Hard to say without hearing the sound.

A compression test should reveal the problem. After that it depends on what is found.
