estimated cost of repairing an exhaust leak

I have a problem with my car it sounds like a loud truck when I push on the gas. from experience it sounds like open headers, but it might be an exhaust leak, but either way what would be an estimate price to fix an exhaust system for cheap? I do not need anything fancy just want to be able to have a quit car and not lose power.
