Dome light does not turn on when door is open

The owners manual says to press the middle button for the dome light to come on when you open the door. It should turn back off when you close the door. It won't turn on when door is open. However, I can press the button next to it once inside the vehicle to have it turn on, and then manually turn it off. I want it to come on when I open the door. Please tell me this is something a normal body shop can fix!

Couple things to start. First, does the light turn on with any of the doors?

If it doesn't come on with any door opening, then more than likely the ETACS is the issue, and not telling the switch that the door is open.

The way to confirm this, is to check the voltage on the highlighted wire below on the wiring diagram.

If you have no voltage on this wire when the door is open, and you have them turned on then the module is the issue. The only other possible cause is all the door switches have failed, and that is highly unlikely.
