The Sirius Radio Module is not working, and I wanted to know if I replace it with a used one, is it plug and play or does it have some kind of component protection (like Audi) where I need to program it to the car, i.e. only the dealer can do it.

Yep, it will need to be coded using the STAR DIAGNOSIS system, the code is 536. Here are the instructions on how to install the Sirius Radio Module. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.

To add to what Ken posted. MB units can be very finicky when it comes to used modules. 2012 isn't as bad as the newer ones but the books are written assuming you are using a factory new module. In this case using an aftermarket tool (Autel, launch. Snap-On) to code the module should work to code a non-critical module.

Just an update for the betterment of the site and in case it helps others. I replaced the SIRIUS module with a used one (same part number) and it start working correctly. It new device ID had to be re-registered with SIRIUS, but otherwise audio went back to working.
