Aux battery replacement?

I have a 2014 Jaguar F-Type Base model with VIN#SAJWA6E76E8K02898. My eco start/stop is not working any more. The primary battery was replaced a year ago, and I checked the voltage output of it and it stands good before & during the ignition run. Then I checked in trunk in right side of the cargo space, I see Aux battery, whose output voltage is 0.2V, so that's the culprit.

Now the questions I have:
a) If I replace this battery myself, will there be any BMS recalibration/reset required afterwards from dealer only scan tool?
b)Dealer price on replace it with labor is $600.00, and if I buy the battery from dealership its only $300.00. So I can save easily $300.00 on labor if there is no special tool required. Also wondering, if there is any more cost effective alternative for this battery like any aftermarket battery, part# JDE32902 ? As it seems pricey for the size of the battery ?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi,

There is no required reset for this battery replacement. I attached the procedure for replacing it.

I look around at different parts sites and did not see an offer for this battery. So unfortunately, the dealer may be your only option.

Thanks KASEKENNY1 for prompt response, that is a relief that I don't need to get it calibrated or reset. And bumped on no other battery purchase option available, but it is what is. I will post updates once I will successfully replace it. Again appreciate your help and guidance.

Sorry, it took me a little longer to get back. Yes, I was able to just replace it with your provided steps and it just worked as plug and play. No calibration was required. Thanks again to the 2CarPros team in helping me resolve another car issue.

Recalibration of the BMS was not detailed for the main battery, not the restart battery?

I am not sure I understand your question. Are you talking about if you have to reset the battery sensor on the main battery? You do not have to reset this as it simply monitors the amperage the vehicle is using so that the ECM can calculate the overall state of charge for the batteries. It needs this so it can determine if there is enough life in the batteries to restart the engine when it shuts off at a stop light. If it drops below a minimum charge then it will disable the stop start so that it doesn't risk not restarting.
