I've had many manual cars, I know the way a clutch feels when it's going bad. My car had no symptoms other than a slight squeak when I'd push down the clutch this last week.
Today, put her in reverse and the car jerked and engine shut off as if my foot slid off the clutch. When I tried starting, the clutch has no give. Just kinda hanging there. Please let me know what you may think it is. Someone said tonight that it's possible out of clutch fluid?! Didn't realize I needed that in my VW

Look near your brake fluid reservoir. Most hydraulic clutches use brake fluid for fluid.
