ac only blows hot

1998 Dodge 1500 2wd 102,000 miles 5.2 my trucks ac used to work but about a year ago i accidentaly cross polarized my battery and had to replace starter and alterantor. after i made that stupid mistake my ac stopped working properly. the heater works fine but when i turn it on cold it doesnt blow cold air. ive checked and replaced all my fuses. and havent found out whats wrong. could you help me with my problem thanks.

you need to get it recharged. get some freon at any auto store, and dont get r12 (you need a license anyways( its r130a

R-134A is the refrigerant used ...... and maybe some accurate diagnostics may be in order .... there is a diode on the compressor circuit that may be blown, or the comp. relay was damaged in the process ... is the HVAC system electronicallyc controlled or a manual set up? Let us know!

im not sure if the hvac is manully or electronically controlled..how can u tell?...thanks for the information

i figured out your last question its electronically controlled the hvac system. can i get freon anywhere and recharged? how much do du think that all might cost?

i figured out that the clutch coil connector is messed up because wenever i connect it the ac fuse blows out. do i have to get a new compressor or just the clutch coil.
