2005 Dodge Ram V8 5.7 Hemi - 46,000 miles

Truck wouldn't start, battery seemed low. Several lights on the dashboard and the dome light would blink together intermittently even without the key turned on, in fact, the key was out of the ignition.

Jump started it with my Dodge diesel but as soon as I removed the jumper cables, the truck would die. Then, I removed a good battery from my diesel and installed it in the 2005 and it started and ran. Drove to the store, bought a new battery and everything seems fine except at the parts store, they thought the trouble might be alternator related since the truck died when the jumper cables were removed. Am I just running on a good battery now waiting for it to die?

What you need to do here is check the alternator output might not be producing the correct voltages or the computer alternator field generation circuit
