2003 Dodge Truck 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

I have no power to the tail light terminal for the trailer plug, the fuse is good. Is there another fuse or fusable link in the wiring for the trailer tail lights?

There's a Trailer Tow relay in the Power Distribution Center under the hood. Try switching it with a different relay. It should click on when the headlight switch is turned to the tail light position.

You can also try jumping the two contacts in the relay, then measure for 12 volts on the trailer connector, or watch to see if the trailer's lights come on. That will tell you if the problem is in the control circuit for the relay or the wiring to the connector. Jump terminals # 30 and 87 of the relay, or pull the cover off and squeeze the contacts. The two outer parallel terminals are the relay's coil. Of the other three in line through the center, jump between the two that form the letter "T". The middle terminal is not used.

If the trailer connector is still dead after bypassing the relay, recheck the large fuses in that box. My service manual lists fuse # 8, 40 amp, but that's from a 1999 book.
