2000 Dodge Truck fluid

dodge 2500 diesel....Yes i am wondering if i can put any other kind power steering fluid in this truck. It makes a growling noise and has to warm up on cold mornings sometimes as much as 5 minutes or more depending on how cold it is. What is your thoughts on a synthetic type or what would you reccommend.....thanks

HI there,

I would be sticking t the factory recommended oil, other oils may not be compatible with valves, seals and lubrication pressure requirements, if there is a noise in the pump, there may be a faulty relief valve i would get this checked first.
