1995 Dodge Truck backlight fuse

My backlights were out, and I checked the fuses. A fuse was blown so I changed it. The lights came back on and were fine for about 10 minutes of driving time, then went out again. What do you think it could be? And if you've got any ideas, how to fix it?

what you referring to as backlights? the tail lights or the reverse lights?

Does it blow without the lights on?

If it blows only with the lights on check the area around your tail lights, side markers, front park lights, and license late lights for any damaged wiring. Check you trailer harness if you have one as well.

Have you had any electrical work done recently? Aftermarket or new stereo system installed? If so, need to check that wiring as well.

Thanks you were right- it was the wiring for the trailer lights that had gotten burned on the muffler and rubbed too much on the hitch at another spot. :)
