The EGR Valve wire lead is melted it still will plug into the valve but has a melted pot on the connector. I have been having a problem with the truck not wanting to run. You can start it just fine and drive it about 20 feet (get RPM's up to 1500) then it dies. It takes about 10 minutes and then you can start it again and the same thing happens. I guess my question is could the melted plug on the EGR vavle be the problem? If so what can I do to fix it can you buy a new harness? Any suggestions or comments would help.....

Hi:
Yes the egr can give you problems with theYou don't want to purchase the entire harness if you don't have to.

As far as the dieing, Have you been able to check the fuel pump pressure?

What I would suggest, is repair the wire to the EGR first. If that doesn't fix the problem, we'll move on from there.
