1987 Dodge Truck Coolant Leak

I have a slow coolant leak (few days before I need to add coolant) that appears not to be coming from a hose. It drips down behind the engine and drips to the ground at the point at which the block and transmission meet. Because the back of the engine is so tight up against the firewall, I cannot see where it is coming from. Could there be a small crack in the block? or a small leak from the water temp sensor mounted beside the distributor? or a slight head gasket leak from an outside edge water jacket? Does this sound like a common problem for the 318 cid V8?

Wash down as beat as you can allow to dry off and then pressure test system, Check visually as best you can for any leaks, get a screwdriver with son cotton waste on the end and probe along to of bell housing. if wet with coolant, it may be coming from the valley cover or rear of heads, if dry and coolant is dripping from lower bell housing, i would be thinking a leaking core plug(i think you refer to them as freeze plugs. Try this first.
