2000 Dodge Stratus, 120,000 miles, 2.4, automatic

When transmission is placed in drive while the brake applied, a vibration is felt in the steering wheel. I have also noticed this on other 4 cyl front wheel cars I have driven. What would be the cause of this? There is also a vibration when driving down the road that I do not believe is from the wheels or suspension. It feels like it may be from the drive train. It is felt at almost any speed and more pronounced at speeds near 60 mph and it doesn't matter whether the car is in drive or neutral at those speeds. What would be the cause of this?

Is this only happening whlie driving the car or at idling at stop?. If its only happening when driving I would think you front tires have broken belts inside, Or a Balge in the tire, Unbalanced.

The axles could be popping in and out of place under load.
