Engine Performance problem
2006 Dodge Stratus 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Hello, i had left my car lights on two weeks ago and it drained my battery. Someone gave me a jump and my car turned on and ran for over 2 weeks w/out a problem. Yesterday my car refused to turn on, but the headlights were very dim and my car alarm was not working properly, so i figured it was the car batery again. We jumped my car and it didnt want to turn on instead it made a disturbing clickng and thumping noise (hard to explain). Well after we tried charging the car with the cables and failed we tried using two sets of jumping cable and that turned on my car instantly. We didnt let it charge beacuse they told me once it started it would charge the battery on it on while the car is running. So we took the cables off and i decided to let the car on for about 15 minutes during that time the car turned off by its own and did not want to start again. We didnt try to jump it because everyone was telling me it was not my battery that was messing up it was something else. Could it be something else engine related, transmition, fuel pump, starter? am so clueless!

Get the alternator load tested could have a shorted diode that's draining the battery or its defective
