lights , dash, dome lights flickering. when the fan cycles on the problem goes away for awhile. took the car to auto zone and they said the voltage regulator is malfunctioning. tested the alternator and i could have sworn that it was reading around 11.0 until they idled it up. then it jumped to over 15.0 . stayed around 15.0-15.2 volts. i tested alternator at home with charger, it says it good . could this be the alternator voltage regulator going bad or the BCM? Like i said before when the fan cycle on the flickering disappear. I have a 2006 dodge stratus sxt 2.4 litre just want to buy a alternator if i don't need it. checked the ground that connects to the back of the transmission and it is fine. Also checked the battery cinnections. Battery is reading 12.9 volts and over 14.0 when the car is running and im using my home charger to check

Dont have enough info on the charging system, but Chrsler products regulat the voltage with the powertrain control module(PCM) check connections there and at the blower. 11.0 volts is low, but 15.-15.2 is ok...

are you taalking about the heater blower? Also i was told that the altrnator can pulsate at time causing the flicker. lets you know that regulator is not holding. now i got a coolant leek and i checked all the connection and they are fine. I think i got a noise coming from the timing belt area. almost line a wineing/howle noise. when i raise the rpms it gets louder then when i let off the accelerator you get a howl noise from the timing belt area. thinking maybe a water pump because it is timing belt driven. the leak is not that bad but you get a little fluid on the bottom cover of the car and lower bolts around the oil pan. i smell antifreeze

I thought you said when blower? comes on it flickers, did you mean radiator cooling fan? Get leak fixed right away, overheating in your car can cause head/head gasket problems..Anifreeze may be getting on the serp belt and spraying onto alternator, this may cause flickering as well.
