location of knock sensor

I need to know the location of the knock sensor and the what size wrench I need to replace it. On a 2004 2.4l four cylinder Dodge stratus?

Hello,

the knock sensor is located on the side of the engine block under a water pipe. I have both knock sensor locations for each engine this car comes with becasue someone might need it. Check out the diagrams below.

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

I replaced mine on my 96 stratus 4cy 2.4, it was leaking, you have to put front of car on ramps and I believe it is 1,1/16 socket, lie on your back with feet towards front, on that harness there is a plastic safety that has to come out, it is a pain to get out, I also put tape on the treads on new one, good luck, Declan.

where is the knock sensor located and how do you fix it?

The sensor is either located on top of the bell housing between the engine and transmission OR it is located on the side of the engine block near the freeze plugs.

Why do you feel it necessary to replace it?
