Without knowing the exact fuse, first look underneath near the oxygen sensor(s), depending on which engine you have, to see if a wiring harness fell down onto hot exhaust parts and a wire has melted through the insulation and is grounding out.

Starter is underneath, kind of sandwiched between the motor and transaxle. Remove battery cable from the fuse box and driver side strut tower, remove 2 starter connectors and 2 mounting screws.

I had my starter replaced about a month ago and it is now blowing fuses, when i asked the mechanic why it was blowing he said he wasnt sure, but it had a blown fuse a month ago and when he fixed it the starter was starting rough, so he went ahead and replaced it. So, now a month and a half later I am having the same problem. It seems like this is a common problem with the stratus make. From what it looks like it is the wiring, does that sound right and how do i get to fixing it?

Welcome to the forum, which fuses are blowing, need fuse position and amp rating. Fuse 8--20 amp? Try unplugging the fuel pump relay, see if fuse still blows? How long since a tune-up?

each component on that circuit has to be disconnected to see if the fuse holds. if it does, then the tech needs to attach each component till the fuse blows again to determine the area of failure.

it could also be a wiring issue as well. it is not an easy process and it is time consuming

Remove negative battery cable from the left strut tower. Remove your air intake box. You may need to remove the transmission control module as well, but do not disconnect the wiring harness. Once those are out of the way, you will see the top mounting bolt. Remove it.

Raise vehicle. From under the vehicle, locate at remove electrical connectors from the starter. Then remove the bottom mounting bolt. Starter is removed from under the vehicle.

Disconnect the negative battery cable from the left strut tower. The ground cable is equipped with a insulator grommet which should be placed on the stud to prevent the negative battery cable from accidentally grounding.
Remove the air cleaner resonator.
Remove the 3 bolts attaching the Transmission Control Module (TCM). Do not disconnect the TCM wiring. Move the TCM to gain access to the upper starter mounting bolt.
Remove the upper starter mounting bolt.
Raise and safely support the vehicle.
Remove the positive battery cable nut and disconnect the cable from the starter.
Disconnect the push-on solenoid connector.
Remove the lower mounting bolt that attaches the starter to the transaxle.
Remove the starter from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION: Install the starter onto the transaxle and the lower mounting bolt. Tighten the mounting bolts to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm). Before reconnecting the wiring to the starter solenoid, be sure to clean the wiring of any dirt or corrosion. Reconnect the positive battery cable to the solenoid post and tighten the retaining nut to 90 inch lbs. (10 Nm). Reconnect the push-on solenoid connector. Lower the vehicle. Reinstall the upper attaching bolt and torque to 40 ft. lbs. (54 Nm). Reinstall the TCM to its original location and install the mounting screws. Reinstall the air cleaner resonator. Reconnect the negative battery cable. Thanks for using 2CarPros.com!

It is fairly simple. As always, remove the cables from the battery.
1. Remove your air filter box and assembly.
2. Remove mounting bolts to your TCM (transmission control module), but do not remove the wiring harness. Move the unit out of the way.
3. Remove two top mounting bolts.
4. Jack the front of the car.
5. Remove wiring harness and connector from the starter solenoid.
6. Support the starter unit, and remove lower mounting bolt. Remove starter away from vehicle (bottom).

Installation is reversed.
