1999 Dodge Stratus rack and pinion

assuming you mean subframe, it may or may not need to be dropped down.... the hardest part is usually taking the bolt out of the steering linkage- rack.... make sure u have the steering wheel straight, and locked... once that bolt is out, remove both nuts on your outer tie rod ends.... wack the hub assembly a few times and the tie rods should come right out.... then get under neath and disconnect the 2 lines to your rack.... i believe they are 18mm, and a shorter wrench is desired.... once those are disconnected, remove the 2 long bolts holding the rack+pinion inplace.... if you cant get the rack out, then remove the 2 bolts for the subframe in the rear..... that will give you about an extra inch of clearance.... it should come right out then.
