1997 Dodge Stratus Front Wheel Drive Automatic

i installed a new radio with a screen in it and i went to hook up the dvd player which is seperate and when i did it blew my interior lights as well as my door locks and the radio wont come on either i did check the radio fuze and it was fine can u help i checked all the fuzes as well why wont it work?

You connected the radio's ground wire to the dash light wire. Very common mistake because the low resistance makes it check like a ground wire. There is no ground wire in the two connectors. That's why there was a braided ground strap bolted to the original radio, or it had a black ground wire clipped to the radio.

There are two fuses for the radio. The station preset and clock memory fuse will be tied into a different circuit that is always hot such as the horn or interior lights.
