You need to have the fuel tank almost empty, relieve fuel pressure, detach both cables to your battery (red by the relay box, black on the driver side strut tower), jack the rear of the car and put jack stands.

Put a piece of plywood between your jack and fuel tank (tranny jack works better), loosen the bolts holding the fuel tank straps, lower the tank. Your fuel filter will be on the rear of of the tank, tucked atop the rear frame rail. Loosen the fuel hose clamps, and one bolt holding the filter to the frame. Careful, you will have some fuel spill.
