i own a 96 dodge stratus when driving its make this loud humming sound and keeps gettting louder the faster you go. when making a turn to the right on the highway it will stop for the length of the turn the car is about a half a inch out of line i hold the sterring a little to the right to go straight is it just the aligment or something else it has about 126000 miles on it

Those are classic symptoms of a wheel bearing going bad.

The noise stops when the weight of the vehicle shifts away from the bad bearing interaction. Don't put this off much longer.

so i guess i wrong on the side of the car that the wheel bearing is bad it should be the pass. side correct i thought the noise was coming from the drivers side because when turning to the right is when the noise stops that means it takes off the pressure on that side so if i right its the right side of the please let me know before i waste money on both b/c money is real tight right now i just starting working again from being layoff for a year thank u so much for your time on this matter thanks




You can't assume that. IT can still be either bearing.

You can lift the wheels off the ground in front and put the car in drive, listening to which side is louder. Just don't raise the rpms too high, just enough to hear it. You may need to use a stethescope for this.
