1991 Dodge Stealth hard shifting

Have a '91 dodge stealth. When going front park to drive or reverse it engages hard. I need to keep foot on brake to keep it from jumping when engaged. Any opinions would b e greatly appreciated before i take it to a shop.

i have a 95 dodge stealth rt..

same problem as you are having..

i keep my front hard on break untill i feel it engage..

mine is also jerking bad when rpm's are low and its shifting down..

(i wish i would of got a 5spd..lol)
