FRONT PADS
REMOVAL:
Unscrew the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.
Raise and support vehicle.
Remove front wheels.
Remove the wear indicator cable and the wear indicator.
Remove brake caliper guide bolt.
Remove brake caliper.
Remove brake pads.
INSTALLATION:
Install the brake pads.
Install the wear indicator cable and wear indicator. Tighten to 10Nm (89 in. lbs.)
Install brake caliper to brake caliper adapter. Tighten guide bolt to 25Nm (221 in. lbs.).
Bleed brake system.
Check brake system for leaks.
Install front wheels.
Lower vehicle.
REAR PADS
REMOVAL:
Unscrew the cap from the brake fluid reservoir.
Raise and support vehicle.
Remove rear wheels.
Remove wear indicator cable and wear indicator.
Remove brake caliper guide pins.
Remove brake caliper from caliper adapter.
Remove retaining spring.
Remove pads.
INSTALLATION:
Install brake pads.
Install wear indicator cable and wear indicator. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.)
Install brake caliper to brake caliper adapter. Tighten guide pins to 25 Nm (221 in. lbs) for M8 bolt or 30 Nm (266 in. lbs) for M10 bolt.
Install retainging spring.
Install rear wheels.
Lower vehicle.
Below is for park brake shoes. Not really part of a brake job but in case you do wish to replace them as well they DO require 2 different specialty tools to do so..
PARK BRAKE SHOES
REMOVAL:
Raise and support vehicle.
Remove rear wheels.
Remove disc brake rotor.
Disconnect front park brake cable from the pulley unit. DO NOT remove the rear park brake cables.
Remove the retracting springs using special tool 9280 (contact local tool supplier)
Remove the adjuster.
Remove the pressure springs using special tool 9281 (contact local tool supplier)
Remove rear park brake shoes. Pull park brake shoes apart at the bottom and remove them together with the adjuster.
