1989 dogde shadow

i have a 89 dodge shadow with turbo , runs well on the open highway but in the city it seems to want to stall. and there is a light on the console that i can figure out what it means. ive checked the fluids and they are all fine. its a p with a circle around it, i think it might be the emergency brake but its broken. what should i be looking for, its really starting to bug me.

If the p light is between the Check engine and the seatbelt lights, then that is the Brake light.
HAve you had the computer checked for engine codes? That might lead you to your problem.
