My truck just died. I sounded like it wanted to turn over, but didn't. We thought it was a fuel filter. We changed that, it sounded the same but still no go. We changed the fuel relay switch, and got the same results. I sprayed brake fluid in the carburetor it sounded the same as before except the truck backfired a few times. could it still be the fuel pump which i believe is located in the gas tank, or should we be looking in another direction? Please help!!

Have you checked for spark and fuel to the engine? Here are the how to's for that. Check it and let me know what is missing.
