1987 Dodge Ramcharger Engine Maint Light

My Egine maint light is on and I cannot get the codes off of it. I have read about the on, off thing, but was hoping that I could get alittle advice. Thanks again

Key on, off, on, off, on. All in about 5-7 seconds. You may see blinking light one....one one is 12 til 5 and 5, that means done, but an 87 I believe was carb. Am I correct? Not many codes but your on the right track. The dealer can see whats wrong and turn it off. Or you can disconnect the battery for a few minutes and then see if it comes back.
