2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD 5.9L with 91000 miles. A simple question really. What is the rubber hose that attaches to the rear brake lines where they meet from the master cylinder and then go on to each rear wheel? This is attached on top of left rear axle. It is about 2 feet long and has become dis-connected from wherever it goes, The brakes work fine though. The tube is probably 3/8 inch and has a white plastic connector on the end that has come out. Thanks, Mike (I did make a donation)

That is called a flex hose, and if it tore out of the connector, made of brass, you should have a leak! If it is connected to the block still, just the bolt holding it to the axle either rusted thru. are the rear lines still attached to it?
